It is then that I am prompted to authenticate, which I have not been able to do using any credentials, domain or local. My thoughts are this is where the break down is. There is some step in the setup that I have forgotten or misconfigured somehow that is preventing this stage from working. For whatever reason, when I added it from configurator, I either had the configuration lock up on the phone or had issues when trying to manipulate the device through MDM.
That being said, it did in fact add the profile correctly when I used configurator. I could see it in my settings, but the MDM application wouldn't properly recognize it. Like I said, not sure how much it will help, but maybe my experience will give you some ideas. Good luck! Yeah I'm having a similar experience using Apples own Profile Manager but I'm aiming to avoid the double handling. I know Apples Enterprise support typically sucks but it can't be this broken can it? We are intending to sign up to DEP eventually.
Maybe that will make a difference? Something is telling me that it's got something to do with the 'optional' enrolment profile for MDM profiles you can configure in AC2 but I'm really not sure. I'll try that next. I just spent a few hours on the phone with the Enterprise support at no charge I might add trying to get help resolving this. I haven't resolved it yet but we are getting closer.
Fortunately I am more or less running a test environment as we basically just blew away any and all Profile Manager configuration as well as Open Directory. The problem I have now is the configuration is no applying but it doesn't like the URL from what we can tell at this stage.
I can do the exact same thing twice and get a different result each time! Only devices that you manually install profiles onto using Configurator 2 will honor that password restriction, and even then, Enterprise support tells me that if it's not a DEP device, the user can put the device in DFU mode to clear the profile of course they may not be able to activate it if it was locked to an Apple ID, but that's another issue.
Note that if you are using a local server that does not yet have a real domain name, your devices need to have their DNS server entry set to the. However, that means that, in order for a device to load the profile at startup from the Welcome screen process and trust the server, you need to set up Internet Sharing to share the server's Ethernet connection over WiFi setting up a hotspot , and at the Welcome screen, select the server's hotspot for the internet connection.
That's the only way the client will trust the profile if it's a. To continue this discussion, please ask a new question. Page content loaded. I am having this exact problem, as well, and have Macbook, iPads, and apps all updated. Have you found a solution yet? Feb 3, AM. I am using Apple Configurator 2 and am trying to add apps to a bank of 22 iPads. It was stuck on "Step Downloding Apps" for over an hour but the loading bar was still moving so I left it. Eventually the loading bar filled completely and it then moved on to transferring the apps onto the iPads.
So if the loading bar is still moving just let it do its thing. Feb 3, PM. Communities Get Support. Sign in Sign in Sign in corporate. Browse Search.
